What ages do you work with?

Services are focused on infants and young children experiencing feeding and oral motor challenges, including breastfeeding, bottle feeding, transition to solids, and early feeding development.

Do I need a referral?

A physician referral is not required for private-pay services; however, collaboration with your child’s medical team is welcomed when appropriate.

Do you accept insurance? What is a superbill?

Little Beginnings Feeding & Development operates as a self-pay practice. This allows families to access services without delays related to insurance authorization. A superbill can be provided for families seeking possible out-of-network reimbursement.

A superbill is an itemized receipt that families may submit directly to their insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies by plan.

Do all lip/tongue ties require a frenectomy?

Not always. Some feeding concerns can improve with therapeutic intervention alone. Recommendations are individualized based on oral function, feeding presentation, and collaboration with the child’s medical providers when appropriate.

Can I contact you before scheduling an evaluation?

Yes. Families are welcome to reach out with questions to help determine whether an evaluation may be appropriate for their child’s needs. Brief questions can typically be addressed prior to scheduling; however, more extensive concerns or detailed feeding histories may be better suited for a virtual consultation to allow adequate time for discussion and individualized guidance.

What areas do you serve?

Services are currently available in and around the Acworth, Cartersville and Rome areas. Please contact for additional location questions or travel availability.

How many sessions will my child need?

Every child’s feeding needs are unique. Recommendations for frequency and duration of therapy are individualized based on evaluation findings, developmental needs, and family goals. It can range from weekly to monthly depending on your child's needs and progress.

Are virtual sessions effective?

Virtual consultations can be beneficial for caregiver education, feeding guidance, follow-up support, transition to solids concerns, and determining whether a full evaluation may be appropriate. Recommendations for in-person versus virtual care are individualized based on each child’s needs.
