Client Experiences

Families often seek support during stressful or uncertain feeding experiences. The following reflections come from caregivers who received individualized evaluation and treatment for infant feeding challenges, including breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and early feeding development. Each child’s progress is unique, and outcomes vary based on individual needs.

"Our baby boy kept us busy right from the start. We started speech therapy with Tracey right away. He struggled with many things, mainly because he came from a feeding tube and had issues swallowing. Thanks to Tracey, she also identified multiple buccal ties, tongue ties, and the biggest being his upper lip tie. We were able to get him in to see a pediatric dentist and ENT. He was later diagnosed with laryngomalacia with Tracey’s help and guidance. He is now 2 and an eating machine. I was welcomed by Tracey to the sessions and was made to feel comfortable asking even the silly questions. She answered every one, never making me feel small. She cares for my son just as an aunt would, and to me that means the world. Tracey’s heart is truly in the work that she does and the care she has for her clients. She treated us in Bentonville, AR, and when she moved, I was so excited for her next move but also heartbroken that we were losing such an amazing person on my son’s medical team. To me, she was our leader and the head of the team because of the connection we had with her throughout my son’s journey."

"Tracey was wonderful to work with. My baby was very colicky and needed oral tie releases, and Tracey truly understood the urgency of helping my daughter find relief. She created an effective plan that addressed the issue quickly and properly. She was also incredibly supportive in teaching me the techniques, making the whole process much less overwhelming. After working with her, my daughter was like a whole new baby!"

I first took my son in to be evaluated by Tracey at 2 weeks old following identification of breastfeeding efficiency issues and body tightness in the presence of poor weight gain. Tracey confirmed the presence of oral restrictions and weakness, and instructed me on oral stretches and strengthening exercises that I could implement at home. She also watched me breastfeed him and performed a weighted feed to assess his latch and the efficiency of his feed. We discussed his tongue and lip ties and she answered my questions regarding the possibility of a release with our pediatric dentist. She took the time to write him a frenectomy recommendation letter to take to our appointment with our dentist. We continued to see Tracey for treatments and reassessments prior to his tongue and lip tie release appointment where she updated his home exercise program, gave feedback and reassured me regarding exercise techniques, and prepared us for what to expect regarding the recovery process following the procedure that took place at 3.5 weeks old. Following the procedure, Tracey supported us through the recovery process physically, mentally, and emotionally until he was 8 weeks old and his recovery was complete. Tracey was so much more than our speech therapist during the time she worked with my son. She was a friend and support person who encouraged me to stay the course, yet take care of my mental health however I saw fit. She supported my decision to triple feed to maintain my milk supply and goal of breastfeeding, she supported us through the use of nipple shields and bodily healing, and she listened to my concerns (and occasional tears) with so much empathy. My son is now 10 months old, his procedure healed well, we have been able to meet our breastfeeding goals, and his weight is healthy in the 70th percentile. We are so thankful for Tracey!
